Wooly is fired as road caption

Okay last Sundays ride got postponed from being published because for some reason the Internet keep eating it when I went to post.  Cussing under breath about  Internet conspiracy...lol  So this is attempt 3...

Friday night rolls around and I am dead tired of these long days and weeks and the stress this job is creating... I worked a 12 hour day, fixed dinner took a shower and went and curled up with a good map.  Yep, I was already looking forward to my Sunday ride.  I had planed a ride down a nice scenic by-way around a lake, then back north and across, then another scenic by-way returning.   Wooly comes to bed and when I show him my plan he looks at me with those sad eyes and say he really had his heart set on riding the coast of Maine.  FUCK, all that planning for nothing.
Saturday night comes and after working a 11 hour day, cooking dinner and showering, I again curl up with a good map to plan yet another ride this time in another direction.  I am not fond of the plan change but I love Wooly more then any stupid plan I had made so plan 2 is thought out.  Now I am not thrilled with the coast line here  I found the west coast to be excellent, okay north-west... And a ride up the coast on a hot weekend day, one would have to be crazy!   Yep that sums us up nicely, crazy.. But  I will find yet another  ride on some scenic roads we can do and then a nice ride back to home, well what we call  home for now.

So Sunday rolls around and we get to go, we b-line up the interstate to Maine, because we have already rode the coast from where we are to there, so we decided to  make some time.  We missed our  first exit. That should have been a sign that this was not going to go so good, but we ride on.  We get back  to the scenic coastal road and are finally on track.  We roll for all of 3 miles and get stopped at a draw bridge.  After baking in the sun for a few to many minutes we are finally feeling some wind.  We are weaving in and out of traffic trying to get out ahead of the crazy people trying to go to the beach.  But no matter how fast we go and how furious we ride we can not escape all this traffic.  After about 20 miles of weaving we decide to take another road father east and even more packed with these crazy beach goers.  Anyway we get caught in stop and stop traffic.  I think the fastest we got going was 2 miles an hour.   It did not take long before the Submarine and I was both over heating and I told Wooly the first west road I see I am on it, with or with out him... We finally got a chance to go west and we both took the chance to get out of all that traffic.  We get stopped at a light and the Submarine decided to throw a fit.  She died when we went to take back off...   Now to be honest I think it might have some thing to do with I was in second but I am not taking the blame on this one, it was the heat and the Submarine being pissed off about it...lol
Any way we get going again and it is not 1 mile and we run out of road.  No more black top, so sticking with our "you picked the road you ride it" rule we rode on.  It was not easy dodging pot holes big enough to swallow me and the Sub.  Trying to handle the bike on loose gravel, with huge pot holes well this ride just gets better and better now don't it...
We get to black top again and I am one happy little girl.  The road was nice some slight banks, with some gentle curves, a nice little ride, finally.  After about 40 miles log we pull over in some little convenient store to get a cold drink and check a map to see where we was.  Yep we was totally off the planed ride by this time. Anyway Wooly spots this nice lakes another 40 miles north of where we are and we decide that it is our new detestation.  Cooled down, hydrated and we go outside to get back on the bikes.
The Submarine  then really does throw a fit decide she is not going to recognize me at all.  Her alarm starts going off and believe me, her alarm is loud.  I go to the saddle bags to get the manual and do a quick reminder of how to by-pass the alarm.  On attempt 2, it works and off we go again.
When we got up to the lakes Wooly was starved, I was to hot to eat so I just had some ice cream.  We called around to find the nearest H.D. dealership to get the Submarine checked, but we was too far away to make any of them in time.  So instead of throwing in the towel we stick to plan 3 and finish going around the lakes and then heading back home.
On the way home there was a couple more incidents. The first one was we got caught at another draw bridge and this time it was for a half an hour.  Bikes off, kickstands down, saddle bag open to the little cooler I carry, we have ourself's a nice little drink out there baking in the sun.  Wooly gets talking to the guy behind us and he offers some advice on where to eat and what roads to go on... Him being in a sports car and a local we did make notes of the roads... When the draw bridge finally came up we got back on the bikes and picked them up... The Submarines kick stand had sunk into the black top about an inch while we was waiting... Shaking head...
The ride home was mostly enjoyable till Wooly had to remind me about the Moose here.  I told him that you can see them in the daylight and we would get back before it was totally dark.  He said yep but all this water on a hot day... Yep I was watching those woods so close afterwards that I missed our turn...  We was rolling in the right direction so it seemed like no big  deal... Wooly decided that 40 miles from home  we should hit the interstate.  We turned off our scenic nice ride to hit the super slab and when crossing over it we seen stopped and stopped traffic again.  I yelled I am not getting involved with that shit and we did another 180 to finish going back down the scenic by-way we was on... Got stopped at  the first draw bridge, AGAIN. but finished a nice little ride back...
So Wooly planned our ride that went to hell several times and I am going to blame him  for all the fun and adventure of this ride...Also I fired him from planning any more rides...;D
